Iota–Alpha Chapter Initiative
The Rho Psi Fraternity/Society was founded in 1916 at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York. In July of that year, the original constitution was adopted, and the founding Chapter was later known as Alpha Chapter of Rho Psi.
The Chinese name of the Society is Soo-You which literally means pure and genuine friendship. The objectives of the Society is to promote and perpetuate friendship among members.
In 1955, the Iota Chapter was founded in the Great Washington DC Area. To promote our core value of caring for our next generation and the Chinese community, Iota Chapter has been presented awards for promoting Chinese youth development, Chinese culture and community service since 1958.
To further promote our core value, Iota Chapter is organizing the Iota-Alpha Chapter, under the Iota Chapter. The objective is, with Iota Chapter’s continuing support, to develop network, primarily among Rho Psi Scholarship Awardees and Rho Psi member descendants for:
- Advancement in member’s educational, social and professional activities
- Promotion of our core value of caring for our next generation and the Chinese community
